Gatlinburg, TN is receiving donations to recover its landscape after a wildfire.

The incident, which spanned more than 17,000 acres across Eastern Tennessee, prompted the involvement of FEMA, the American Red Cross and the Multi-Agency Recovery Center. Veolia’s contribution exists in tandem with funds collected by the East Tennessee Foundation’s Sevier County Community fund, which has since raised more than $200,000.

Veolia works in Tennessee on four projects statewide, including an operations contract with Gatlinburg Wastewater Treatment Plant. Locally based M&C Project Manager William Ehrenbeck, second from the right, delivered a check on behalf of the company to city officials.

Although recovery is ongoing, cities like Pigeon Forge and similar communities across the region expect a quick restoration to the vacation destination they’ve always been.

Further donations to the Chamber of Commerce’s Gatlinburg Relief Fund can be made through SmartBank.
